How we use technology in the classroom, what roles teachers can play, how teachers can use technology for classroom activities and learning management, and what kind of “literacy” is needed are all topics and questions that will be addressed during the PD session. In 2013, Alberta Education produced the “Learning and Technology Policy Framework” (In today’s rapidly changing world where IT is quickly advancing, how we use technology in the classroom is becoming more critical. Members keep in touch by the use of AJTA Email Group, Nihongo-Alberta Email Group, Online “Skype” meetings and scheduled annual meetings.

Originally formed in 1995, the Alberta Japanese Teachers Association has provided Alberta teachers of Japanese the opportunity to professionally meet, network and develop opportunities for professional development. The Alberta Japanese Teachers’ Association (AJTA) is a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Alberta Teachers Association’s, Second Language Intercultural Association (SLIC).
